T Mobile G1 hits the tube

Fans of the new T Mobile G1 can now have all of their device-related questions answered via a new online channel.
The network behind the HTC-built handset has announced the launch of a YouTube channel - encouraging visitors to post video and text responses that could include questions and reviews about the phone.
It is noted that the T Mobile YouTube G1 Channel also aims to improve levels of communication between the carrier and its customers, as well as offering advice and tips on how to get the best from the handset itself.
Brendon Cooling, head of online at T Mobile, said the move was in response to the growth of social networking and demand for better customer service.

Recycled materials boost new green Motorola phone

Motorola has announced a new innovative mobile phone that uses recycled materials in its manufacture.
The company, which counts handsets such as the ROKR and RAZR among its range, said the MOTO W233 Renew is the first of its kind to fully utilise recycled plastic water bottles.
Showcasing the new device at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Motorola said the W233 Renew offers high performance in addition to its ecological profile.
The phone is 100 per cent recyclable, is manufactured in a fully carbon neutral manner and, according to corporate vice president of global marketing for Motorola Jim Dale, should be a popular choice for consumers.

The Sony Ericsson C905 has been put to the test in a couple of recent online reviews, with varying results.
According to MobileBurn, the 8.1-megapixel handset is a great addition to the current range of high-performance cameraphones that have arrived in the past few months.

Gamers looking for speed and excitement may be interested in the latest driving title to arrive for their mobile phones.

A company known for its range of mobile phones has unveiled a new system which it hopes will offer better internet connectivity.
This week, Motorola - the firm behind a selection of handsets including the ROKR and RAZR range - released details of its new wireless router, which it hopes will offer users a more reliable mobile broadband option.

O2 records record number for new year texters

The number of text messages sent during the new year's celebrations reached a record level this year for one network.
According to O2, between 07:30 GMT on New Year's Eve and the same time on January 1st, an estimated 166 million SMS messages were sent in total via its users' mobile phones and devices.
This equates to around 1,900 messages being sent every second on average - with around 16 million saved using O2's free Bluebook service.
Bluebook allows people on the network the ability to back up their phone numbers online as well as save all the text and photo messages they receive to their phone.

According to the Pocket-lint website, such services provide a solution for both home and professional users - and with networks such as Vodafone, Orange, T Mobile, 3 and O2 now offering packages, there is also a wide selection available.

A new review has looked at the Nokia N85 and hailed the phone as one of the best multimedia handsets around.
In a piece for the Mobile Burn website, Ricky Cadden puts the new device to the test and praises the inclusion of Symbian's S60 operating system, OLED display screen and micro-USB charging facility.

The popularity of websites such as Facebook, MySpace and Bebo should be utilised by the organisers of the Olympic Games, it has been suggested.
With more consumers logging on to such sites via phone and mobile broadband services, a spokesman for Where Are You Now? (WAYN) said there is an opportunity available to organisers of the London 2012 Games.
